Nancy Mazza

Nancy Mazza has long been a fixture in Republican politics, beginning in 1968 as a College Republican at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va. Even while living abroad in 1972, she worked on events and receptions for U.S. citizens in London, England.

Since 1976, Nancy has worked with the Guilford County Republican Party on many legislative campaigns and has served on the recruitment committee for the North Carolina General Assembly. She has served on the Guilford County Executive Committee several times in the last 35 years.

In 1980, she became involved with the Guilford County RWC and has held the offices of treasurer, vice president and president (1987). She also has served on many committees of the Greater Greensboro RW.

Nancy’s dedication to the Republican cause has not stopped at the borders of Guilford County. She also has been active statewide and nationally. As a member of the North Carolina FRW, Nancy has chaired many of its committees, including Caring for America (1993-95) and Campaign (1995-97). Having accomplished great success with those committees, Nancy was elected NCFRW president (1997-99). She continues her service to the NCFRW as historian.

Nationally, Nancy has served on several NFRW committees, including as chair of Campaign (2000-02), chair of Legislative (2002-04), member of Public Relations (2004-06) and member of Caring for America (2006-08).

Nancy also has served on the North Carolina GOP's central and executive committees for many years. As a member of the 6th Congressional District Executive Committee, she served as both secretary and vice chairman. In 2000, she raised money for the party as co-chairman of the NCGOP Auction Committee. Today, she continues to serve the NCGOP as the 13th Congressional District Secretary. In 2007, Nancy was inducted into the NCGOP Hall of Fame from the 13th District.

Nancy has also represented the North Carolina Republican Party as a delegate to the 2000 and 2004 Republican National Conventions. She has worked on the campaign staffs of Lauch Faircloth for U.S. Senate and Leo Daughtry for Governor. She served as the 1999 North Carolina ballot petition director for then-Gov. George W. Bush. Today, she works for Congressman Howard Coble in his district congressional office.
