Jean Pakes has been a member of Oxnard RWF in California since 1995. She was appointed the publicity chairman at her third meeting, and went on to serve two terms as president in 1999-2000. She also served as publicity chairman of Ventura County RWF and California FRW, Southern Division. She is the co-chairman of the CFRW Resolutions Committee.
As an NFRW Regent, Jean has had tea with First Lady Laura Bush at the White House six times. She has served on the NFRW Resolutions Committee for several years, and also served several terms on the NFRW Literacy Committee.
In 2006, Jean was named California Businessman of the Year by the Business Advisory Council of the National Congressional Committee.
She has two daughters, one son, two grandsons and twin granddaughters.
