Eileen Sobjack was elected NFRW member-at-large at the 36th Biennial Convention in Kansas City and took office in January 2012. She is director of NFRW Region 2, which includes Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. She also is serving a second term as president of the Washington FRW.
Sobjack’s journey
into politics started when she was a young mother and a partner in
her husband’s business. She saw firsthand the burden of too much
government control on families and small business. She became
dedicated to assuring the liberty and freedoms we enjoy are
available for the next generation. This led to her involvement
initially as a volunteer lobbyist and activist for business and
family issues; before long, she became involved in Republican
politics.
Since 1988, Sobjack has volunteered each election season in local,
state and national campaigns, most recently as county chair for Rob
McKenna for Governor.
She has served in all levels of county GOP leadership: PCO, vice
chair, state committeewoman, executive board member, and chair of
many committees. For her efforts, she was named 2006 Republican of
the Year.
Instrumental in supporting the reorganized club of Whatcom County RW,
Sobjack was elected president in 2000. She has been a delegate to
every NFRW biennial convention since 2001. In addition to
president, her service in the Washington Federation includes
legislative chair, district director, 2nd vice president,
coordinator of the district directors, club development chair,
public relations chair and 1st vice president and director of
programs.
Sobjack works as an educational consultant and on campaigns. Married for 34 years, she and her husband have raised three active, responsible citizens who, along with a son-in-law and two daughters-in-law, are all Republicans. They also have six wee-publican grandchildren. Their middle son is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
