Judy Hughes of Colorado Hughes believed in the power of communication. During her term, all members were reached directly and regularly through the mailing of a bi-monthly magazine. She initiated a telephone hotline to activate support for Republican policies and initiatives and commissioned the publication of "Why America is Called the Land of Opportunity: The Story of Free Enterprise" to foster a greater understanding of this ideal in communities and schools throughout the nation.
