National
Federation of Republican Women
Presents Reagan
Award to Texas GOP Leader
State Federation President Receives Honor at
National Convention
ORLANDO, Fla. – The National
Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) presented the 2009 Ronald
Reagan Leadership Award to Texas Republican leader Toni Anne
Dashiell during its 35th biennial convention in Orlando, Fla.
A resident of Boerne and president of the Texas Federation of
Republican Women (TFRW), Dashiell received the award at a
luncheon on Sept. 13. The award was established by the NFRW in
2005 to recognize the outstanding leadership of one state
president and is presented every two years at the biennial
convention.
Dashiell and four other state presidents were selected as
finalists based on overall leadership and initiation of new
programs, increases in membership, participation in national
programs, and excellence in public relations and campaign
efforts.
During her two-year tenure as TFRW president, Dashiell has led
10,000 members to action on a wide range of issues, has overseen
statewide communications workshops and has implemented high-tech
tools such as Facebook and Twitter. She has been active in the
Federation for 15 years, serving in numerous leadership roles at
the state and club level. Likewise, she has assumed leadership
roles within the Republican Party at all levels and has worked
on dozens of campaigns.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in
local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories,
making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in
the country. The grassroots organization recruits and elects
Republican candidates, advocates the Party’s philosophy and
initiatives, and empowers women in the political process.
