National Federation of Republican Women
Shows Support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Sue Lynch, president of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), issued this statement regarding the NFRW's support and recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

“The National Federation of Republican Women is proud to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we thank all of the people and organizations that have sacrificed time and resources in pursuit of increasing education and early detection, and discovering more effective treatments for this disease. As an organization made up of more than 75,000 women nationwide, the NFRW is no stranger to breast cancer. Many of our members are breast cancer survivors, and, sadly, many -- including my good friend Lynn DeBauche -- have lost their courageous battle with this disease.

“This month, we encourage our states, clubs and members to participate in the many programs, events and activities devoted to this cause. Together, we can and will make a difference.”

Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
