National Federation of Republican Women
Commemorates Pearl Harbor Anniversary

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Sue Lynch, president of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), issued this statement in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack:

“Today, we pause to remember the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. As President Roosevelt so aptly predicted, December 7, 1941, is a date which still lives in infamy, a date that changed the entire course of history. Even though 70 years have passed, the National Federation of Republican Women commemorates the 84,000 uniformed Americans who were on the island that fateful day, and we salute the estimated 8,000 Pearl Harbor veterans who are still living. May we continue to recognize and honor their bravery and their service to our nation.”

Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
