National Federation of Republican Women
Co-Sponsors Women's Rally for Cuccinelli
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) co-sponsored a pre-debate women's rally on Oct. 24 to support Virginia's Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli.
The rally was held at Custom Catering, a local Blacksburg business, and featured Cuccinelli's wife, Teiro Cuccinelli, and his father, Ken Cuccinelli Sr., as well as Linda Bartlett, first vice president of the Virginia Federation of Republican Women (VFRW).
"The message of the rally was that competent, concerned, informed, intelligent women vote Republican," Bartlett said.
The NFRW co-sponsored the rally with the VFRW and the Cuccinelli for Governor campaign. Women and men from the Blacksburg area and from Northern Virginia attended the event. After the rally, attendees were given tickets to the final televised debate between Cuccinelli and his Democrat opponent, Terry McAuliffe, on the Virginia Tech campus.
Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of
active members in local clubs across the nation and in several
U.S. territories, making it one of the largest women’s political
organizations in the country. The grassroots organization works
to promote the principles and objectives of the Republican
Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through
political education and activity, and increase the effectiveness
of women in the cause of good government.
