The WORWF was honored to host Dr. Alveda King at our luncheon meeting on June 10, 2019. The room was filled-to-capacity with 150 members and friends, all excited to hear her remarks.
Evangelist Dr. King is the Founding Director of the non-denominational Alveda King Ministries, Executive Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, and serves on the outreach teams of Priests for Life and Gospel Life Movement. She won the Life Prize Award in 2001, and has been installed in the Pro-Life Hall of Fame. She is a Fox News contributor, the Director of the Frederick Douglass Republican Commission, and is the daughter of the Rev. A.D. King and niece of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. King talked about President Trump's successful economic policies that have resulted in thousands of new jobs and higher wages, his prison reform measures, and his policies to reinforce religious freedom. Dr. King shared photos of events that she attended with President Trump while recounting related anecdotes and conversations. She then took questions from the audience. When asked, “Who is President Donald Trump?” she quoted a Trump proclamation, “We [Americans] do not worship government. We worship God.”
In her closing remarks, Dr. King said that it is an honor to serve America -- and the indomitable Donald Trump. It is her strong belief that he speaks to the hearts of everyone, and he can bring America back to work, back to church and back to school. Dr. King then received a standing ovation from the club members and guests.
The group also celebrated the June 14 Birthday of President Donald J. Trump, and signed hundreds of postcards wishing him a Happy Birthday.
