To request free publications from the U.S. Department of Education's ED Pubs, call toll-free 1-877-4ED-PUBS, or order online by visiting edpubs.ed.gov. Publications are available in both English and Spanish. ED Pubs offers more than 6,000 titles. Items include brochures, CD-ROMs, grant applications, newsletters, posters, research reports, videotapes and financial aid products.

The U.S. Department of Education houses and supports organizations that provide research, evaluation and statistics, including the:
  Institute of Education Sciences - ED's main agency for research, evaluation and dissemination of statistics and guidance to further evidence-based policy and practice
  National Center for Education Statistics - The main Federal organization for collecting and analyzing education data
  National Assessment of Educational Progress - Also known as the "Nation's Report Card," assesses what America's students know and can do in academic subjects
  Policy and Program Studies Service - Analyzes education policy and evaluates education programs
  Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education - Innovative projects for improving post-secondary education
  National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research - Research on the full inclusion, social integration, employment and independent living of disabled individuals of all ages
  Organizations sponsored by the Office of Special Education Programs - Research related to special education
  National Research Center for Career and Technical Education
