The Golden State of California is known for its sunshine, entertainment, leisure and fun … fun with a touch of class. The California Federation of Republican Women Host Committee warmly welcomes you to an Opening Night Gala that will both dazzle and delight, one you long will remember.

During the reception preceding the Gala, we will give a red-carpet welcome to several stars of the Golden Age, and treat guests to photo opportunities, wine tasting and melodies of the past. Here, you will meet Federated women from across the country and many California guests, celebrities and political figures while renowned area entertainer Phil Birdsell provides pleasant background music with some added merriment.

As the doors open to the Gala, you will be greeted by celestial stars, music and classic table decorations. Yes, our Gala is a seated affair featuring light meal service. The famous “Palm Springs Follies,” which begins a new season in October, will welcome you by performing on film its famous patriotic stage number, followed by the introduction of the lovely young ladies who are representing their great states as NFRW pages this weekend.

Now for the evening’s highlight! We are thrilled that famed Beverly Hills designer David Hayes will present his couture fall fashions on 14 of California’s finest models. Through the years, Mr. Hayes’ stylish clothes have been worn by many stars and by First Lady Nancy Reagan.

There’s more! You will watch the stars walk the red carpet as your favorite Tinseltown classics come to life in “Hollywood Revisited – A Tribute in Costume, Song and Dance.” Set to the music that defined the times, this stunning musical review showcases a dazzling lineup of costumes actually worn by the stars in the original Hollywood films. And, the beautiful and mesmerizing actress Rhonda Fleming will speak to the Hollywood that many of us remember.

So “Follow the Stars” to the Opening Night Gala, and enjoy an evening of entertainment, fun and leisure … California style!
