RONALD REAGAN LEADERSHIP AWARD
Established in 2005 to commemorate the distinguished
leadership of the late President Ronald Reagan, the NFRW
Ronald Reagan Leadership Award honors a state president who
provides extraordinary leadership and inspiration to her state
Federation and to the NFRW. The award is presented every two
years at the NFRW convention.
The 2007 award went to North
Carolina FRW President Martha Jenkins, who was one of five
finalists. She was announced the winner during the NFRW
Awards Luncheon, Sunday, Sept. 30.
Since 2003, Jenkins has led
the NCFRW in building communications with Republican
legislators and the state GOP and enhancing public
relations efforts. She also has been an unwavering
proponent of the Jessica Lunsford Act, advocating its
passage in the North Carolina legislature and working to
bring the issue to a wider audience by appearing on
programs such as “The O’Reilly Factor.” Jenkins was a
finalist for the Reagan award in 2005.
