LEGISLATIVE DAY ON THE HILL March 29, more than 215 Republican women donned their "red coats" and "yellow ribbons" and visited the U.S. Capitol to meet with legislators, attend committee hearings and take capitol tours. They were briefed by dozens of Republican senators and representatives; met with Doro Bush Koch, sister of President George W. Bush; and, advocated for President Bush’s plan for victory in Iraq. During the photo session on the Capitol steps, they sang patriotic songs to show their support for U.S. troops serving overseas. “Republican women went to Capitol Hill to make it clear: we support our President, and most of all, we support our troops,” NFRW President Beverly Davis said. “The NFRW strongly endorses the President’s call for troops to be fully funded, with no strings attached to commanders on the ground and no arbitrary deadlines for withdrawal.” |
