NEW LEADERS ELECTED
Voting members of the board were tasked with filling a vacancy on the NFRW Executive Committee. Joyce Smith of Indiana was elected 1st vice president in Orlando, but resigned late last year due to personal reasons.
Rae Lynne Chornenky of Arizona was elected to fill the position of 1st vice president. This election created more vacancies on the committee, and subsequently, Patt Parker of Maryland was elected 2nd vice president, and then Jo Mitchell of New Mexico was elected member-at-large. More on the NFRW Executive Committee.
The state presidents elected a new coordinator. Rita Wray, president of the Mississippi FRW, will serve as a liaison between the state presidents and the NFRW Executive Committee.
Four resolutions were approved by the board, including one rejecting nationalized health care. Read the resolutions in their entirety.
The NFRW Fundraising Committee's silent auction and raffles raised more than $9,500 for the NFRW. In addition, the Membership Committee's new Legacy Club raised more than $15,000. Thank you to these committees for their efforts and success.
