TUSTIN AREA REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEDERATED
After seven years, the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial (pictured above) in Northwood Community Park, Irvine, Calif., finally has been completed.
Members of Tustin Area RWF were early grassroots supporters of the permanent memorial, which was unanimously approved by the Irvine City Council in July 2003. The memorial was dedicated in November 2010 and honors our more than 5,700 military men and women who have fallen in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001. It is officially open 24 hours a day, year-round.
Clara Honea, Tustin Area RWF board member and Supporting Our Troops chairperson, says, "Many people contributed to make this possible, including the City of Irvine. The names of the fallen are engraved on the memorial. Thank you to everyone who supported our dream."
