MAGIC VALLEY REPUBLICAN WOMEN
The newly-formed Magic Valley Republican Women is celebrating receiving its national charter, and has been very active.
In July, the monthly meeting featured Idaho's Secretary of State, Ben Ysursa, who presented a workshop on Idaho's voter registration system. This workshop helped prepare members for registering voters at the Magic Valley Air Show. An eager crew of women were in place at the club's booth when the gates opened.
The Air Show featured the Navy's Blue Angels, the Army's Golden Knight Parachute Team, and many stunt pilots, including one classy lady, Jacquie Warda. The crowd numbered about 20,000 each day.
Included in the static aircraft displays was a restored WWII B-25 from the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing. Coincidently, Magic Valley RW had adopted the WWII WASPs (Women Air Service Pilots) as its inspiration. The club presented the B-25 crew with a framed photo of the WASPs in front of the "Pistol Packing Mama" B-17 (the WASPs also flew the B-25). This presentation is pictured above.
The club registered many voters and gained five new members during the event. In addition, many state legislative candidates campaigned from the club's booth.
