METRO FEDERATED REPUBLICAN WOMEN
One of Metro FRW's most interesting meetings this year featured a forum for candidates running for New Mexico's First Congressional District: Dan Lewis, Janice Arnold-Jones and Gary Smith.
On March 14, Vice President Kathy McCoy outlined how the forum would be structured with the questions and timing of each for the candidates as they answered. President Juelie Loftin and McCoy worked to create penetrating questions of timely interest which made the candidates stretch in giving informative answers to our audience. We were really able to know where the candidates stood on many issues.
Each candidate encouraged us to get involved in getting out the vote. This is a must-win election for the Republican Party in our state and on the national level, as well. It was one of our largest meetings, reaching beyond our membership to a total of 56. It was a packed house that gave a rousing, standing ovation to the candidates and their performances.
