PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY

Nancy Miller is a small business owner from eastern Iowa. She and her husband have owned and operated a shoe store and shoe repair shop for 30 years. Nancy’s foray into politics came as the issues confronting small businesses became more intrusive.

She has served as Muscatine County RW president, treasurer and membership chair. She served 1-1/2 terms as district president, and has served on the state executive board and advisory board for several terms in various positions.

Nancy loves working with people at the grassroots, and has enjoyed meeting and getting to know the women across Iowa who care about their state and country and are willing to invest their time showing it. She believes our government works when the people care enough to get involved.

As a lab technician, Nancy works with medical technologists on the second shift at a local hospital. She has two sons, one grandson and a grandchild on the way.

FEDERATION HISTORY

The Iowa Federation affiliated with the NFRW in 1939. The formation of early Republican Women's Clubs began in 1928 by Ella C. Taylor, one of Iowa's first women newspaper columnists. National Committeewoman Martha McClure was instrumental in organizing Iowa Republican women into a statewide club.

The Iowa Federation engages in grassroots work at all levels, holds annual Legislative Days at the state Capitol, sponsors Campaign Schools, and works hard to get-out-the-vote in all elections. Club members also have established a successful biannual Tribute to Women fundraiser.
