Patt Parker is serving her 2nd term as President of the Maryland
Federation of Republican Women. Her passion is to ensure Republicans
are aware of and embrace Republican values enabling them to
knowledgably engage those in their circle of influence and expand
that influence to their communities, state and nation. This passion
became purpose, as the MFRW has influenced major legislation and is
continuing to do so in 2009.
Patt strongly believes in the abilities and uniqueness Republicans
bring to the table and is actively recruiting Republican candidates
to run for office at the local, state and national levels. Under her

to run for elected office or become part of campaigns. As the

knowledgeable members supporting Republican candidates in every
region of the state. MFRW has provided training to women from other

The Maryland Federation was founded in 1920 and affiliated with
the NFRW in 1938. MFRW is divided into six regions and has 46 clubs.
The first club included a group of six activist women whose initial
goals were organization, education and legislation to repeal many of
the old English laws still on the books that discriminated against
women.
That spirit of activism continues today. The clubs vigorously
support literacy and advocacy programs, leadership development, free
enterprise and outreach. Members volunteer for campaigns, recruit
and train candidates, raise money, and assist with voter
registration. MFRW participates in Memorial Day, Flag Day and
Independence Day parades, and provides community service to women
and children's shelters. Members tutor special students and sponsor
scholarships and essay contests.
