Betty Bailey has been active in Republican politics for many
years and has served on the Pleasants County Republican Executive
Committee, and in several leadership roles in her local Republican
women's club and in the West Virginia FRW.
Bailey lives on a farm in her native state of West Virginia. In June
2000, she retired after working for 30 years at St. Mary's High
School. She is serving her second term on the Pleasants County Board
of Education and volunteers as a mentor, chaperone and reader at the
local schools.
She is active in the Calcutta United Methodist Church and has served
as a 4-H leader for more than 45 years. She also serves as chair of
the Mid-Ohio Valley Women's Connection, as education director for
the West Virginia Woman's Christian Temperance Union, as president
of Pleasants County Senior Citizen Club and as secretary of the
Pleasants County Retired School Employees organization.
Bailey was married to the late Joe Bailey for 45 years and has three
sons and six grandchildren.

The West Virginia Federation has 17 clubs. Clubs organize volunteers to participate in Republican campaigns, raise funds for candidates, and work in all Republican races in the state.
