As March is Women's History Month, it is time to reflect on the women who have served or are currently serving our country. We have a number of women veterans throughout the NFRW.  The NFRW Armed Services Committee extends a big “Thank you for your service” to each of you!

We need to be thinking of our service members (active, reserve, guard and veterans) during this time of unrest. Service members are still deployed in the Middle East, the National Guard is still in Washington D.C., and many of our veterans are struggling. So lift up your voices in prayer.

In honor of Veterans Day, Federated Republican women's clubs should identify their veteran members and host an event that shows appreciation for their service to the nation. Knowing our national history and the personal sacrifices made to keep our nation the “land of the free and the home of the brave” is important. Members can learn more about the demographics of current and former veterans and the programs in place to serve their needs.

September 11th changed more than the skyline of New York City. The attacks changed a generation of Americans, our military and our world. That day’s destruction and devastation did not condemn this country to a future filled with fear. Rather, this loss -- as profound as it was -- made us stronger as a Nation.
