On November 10, 1775, a Corps of Marines was created by a resolution of Continental Congress. Since that date thousands of men and women have borne the name "Marine." In their memory, we who are Marines should commemorate the birthday of our corps by calling to mind the glories of its long and illustrious history.

Michelle Garcia Holmes has a solid background as a public servant. She is a veteran of the Albuquerque Police Department, where she worked in the units fighting crimes against children and sexual assault, and she is the former chief of staff to the New Mexico Attorney General's office. As the Republican nominee in New Mexico's 1st congressional district, she is working to revive the state's conservative values.
