DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COLLEGE REPUBLICAN WOMEN
PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY Melissa Caridad was appointed president of the DC College Republican Women in May 2010. She is earning a law degree and a master's degree in business administration at American University. She graduated from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with a degree in international politics and a certificate in Muslim-Christian understanding. While at Georgetown, she interned at the White House under the Bush administration, at the Heritage Foundation and at the Center for Equal Opportunity. Previously, she was active in politics in California, including working for now-Congressman Tom McClintock and serving for six years on the City of Malibu Youth Commission. She was awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal in 2005 for her dedication to community service, and received a scholarship from the Los Angeles County Republican Women. GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY REPUBLICAN WOMEN Brittany Blizzard PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY Brittany Blizzard of New York was elected president of Georgetown University Republican Women in March 2010. GURW was chartered in 2009, and Blizzard served on the charter board as treasurer. She has been active in politics for seven years and was president of Young Republicans at her high school. She has served on Republican campaigns at the county level in her home state and volunteered for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign. Blizzard is a junior studying sociology and government.
