Education and Literacy
Programs
The NFRW Literacy
Committee strives to sponsor and support a variety of programs, and
we hope there is at least one to fit each Federated Republican
women's club, regardless of
size or location. We sincerely believe in our motto –
Readers Become Leaders.
Please contact any member of the
NFRW Literacy Committee for

BARBARA BUSH LITERACY PROGRAM
- LITERACY MONTH
Each September, Republican
women's clubs across the nation are asked to let us know what
they do to promote literacy. All clubs returning the short
literacy month form receive a signed certificate of
participation and are entered in a random drawing for first
and second prizes.
Thank You

WHAT REPUBLICAN WOMEN OFFICIALS READ
With the challenges facing our nation and the blossoming of
Republican women in elected office and leadership positions,
it is the perfect time to highlight what Republican women
officials are reading to draw inspiration from their book
choices and "smart power leadership" that motivates and
empowers.
With the belief that
Readers Become Leaders, the NFRW Literacy Committee is
launching this exciting new project. A list is undergoing
compilation, and each month, a book will be selected and
featured here and also will include the Republican woman
official associated with the selection. Check in for
updates.

THE LAURA BUSH
FOUNDATION FOR AMERICA'S LIBRARIES
The Laura Bush Foundation for
America's Libraries created the Gulf Coast School Library
Recovery Initiative to rebuild school libraries in the
hurricane devastated Gulf Coast. As soon as it was announced,
the NFRW Literacy Committee endorsed it and encouraged members
to become involved. Since then, Mrs. Bush has expanded the
mission to encourage support for all of America’s libraries.

ways to implement education and literacy programs in their communities. The
NFRW would love to learn what you're doing. Please
