If ever there was an example of a policy with easily foreseeable unintended consequences! Republicans probably believe the money will incentivize couples to have children. But who would have a child for $1000? It would almost certainly be single women on welfare. Exactly the problem we’ve had for decades! This is a terrible idea.

Stupid idea. This is no guarantee that money would even go to the child. I can see parent/guardian spending the money foolishly instead of the welfare of the child. We are not teaching younger generations to be responsible and do something with their lives when they are freely handed everything. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Do not give money for having children. No reward for having child. And think of processing fee.

At a 25,000 foot view this is a good idea, but at the 5,000 foot view not so much! Someone will have to pay for this added debt and many seniors on limited incomes cannot afford to support babies who are under the guardianship of an adult who MAY or may not cash in this account!

No, why would I work hard hours to give someone else $1,000 to have a child over giving it my own family that could use it! Won't we ever learn! Only the people that are not working will take advantage of this and then, will want money for day care and food stamps to support the new child. Please remove this item from the bill!
