It is more than any other President has done to look the enemy in the eye and TRY to make them a friend. God Bless him. Other than President Regan with Gorbachav (sp?).

It's impossible to tell how this will turn out. But I'm leaning toward success, given that Kim has been on relatively good behavior lately. Trump was smart to show Kim the potential for a different and much better future for his maximally oppressed people. Maybe Kim will like the prospect of being away from his country's present course. What a legacy that would be!

It all depends on how Kim Jung Un deals with it. If he really wants real peace on the Korean peninsula, it will result in at least the reduction, if not the elimination of nuclear weapons in the peninsula, and a more peace-like atmosphere. If he doesn't, then all bets are off. President Trump has done more toward peace in the two Koreas than presidents before him.

Nuclear weapons, missiles, etc., ensures Kim's power over his people. It also makes him and his regime a threat to SK and the civilized world. President Trump says his people love him. Yes, his army and his minions serving at his beck and call would appear to love him; but what about the general population who live without proper medical care, basic necessities and FOOD. Death from hunger is a common occurrence in NK. For proof, we can look no further than the two NK soldiers that escaped into SK during the pasted year.

It's too soon to know whether or not North Korea will actually eliminate their nuclear program, but what do we have to lose by attempting? The mere fact that Kim Jung Un met with President Trump is an encouraging sign, and far more than previous administrations have been able to achieve. The media's constant criticism of Trump with comments such as "Trump is unfit; he's mentally deranged" have contributed to Kim's willingness to negotiate, since he cannot be certain that Trump won't hit North Korea with a missile (as he knew with certainty that Obama would do no such thing).. Thus, because he can never be sure what Trump might actually do, Kim Jung Un may actually fear his own destruction if he does not give up his nuclear weapons, making him open to a sincere negotiation.

President Trump has made great progress to us get this far. It looks like it is moving forward step by step. Only time will tell and daily prayers to support this historical effort.
