I think DNA testing goes too far. There are circumstances of adopted children that would be part of a legitimate family even though not biologically related. There is no arguing that illegal immigration is a real problem. We need to make America the land of opportunity again, not the welfare country. If there were a country that I thought was giving away free food, housing and medicine....I would go there too.

I agree with DNA testing but would prefer that our tax dollars be spent preventing illegal immigration to begin with. A soon as we can, we need to bring immigration enforcement back, finish building the wall and support ICE's efforts to return illegal immigrants. DNA testing is enforcement that is too late on the process.

I do feel DNA testing would be preferred but the cost again would fall on the US taxpayer. So, I propose that if these illegals can somehow find it in their ability to pay coyotes and drug cartels thousands to get them across the border, that they should also pay for this service. It could be "sold" as a plus after their name in case they showed up for their court hearing in the future.

DNA testing is not free, so why waste in on criminals? Only those applying for emergency Asylum in the US need testing if children are with them, and they should apply from outside the US, not crash the border. Finishiing the Wall, prohibiting Chain Migration and inviting in only the people we NEED (the way every smart country in the world does it!) is the only way to manage immigration. 82 years ago US authorities lost my Dad's application 3 times over 7 years. I hear the competence of the immigration bureaucracy has not changed.

My question is if we do the DNA testing and find out that these illegal immigrant children are not family of the illegal immigrants then what is the next step? We all know that these children are being brought over to our country for ill purposes.

We need a secure border wall first and put a stop to all illegal immigrants coming into this country first. Who will pay for the DNA testing, my guess more tax dollars spent on the wrong solution. What will we do once we determine these children do not belong to the adults who bring them in? Are we going to send them back across the border? There needs to be a more comprehensive approach rather than just a knee jerk reaction.

It should act as an incredible barrier to entry - preventing child trafficking, children being sent without their parents. If there is a legal adoption, no problem. Simply provide court documents supporting the adoption. Both provide proof that the children belong with the parents. It should reduce this type of illegal immigration (they won't have the documents, so won't choose this method). If you cannot prevent it at your court hearing, you are DEPORTED. Not released into the US.
