A question similar to this was asked months ago by NFRW. I said the same thing months ago as I’m saying today. I did not believe it is wise to completely remove all U.S. troops from Afghanistan. Our government should have left behind a small contingency of about 2,500 Special Forces to KEEP THE PEACE and not have the country fall into terrorist chaos.

We have many more than 2,500 American peacekeeping forces in South Korea and Germany. Why shouldn’t we have peacekeeper soldiers in Afghanistan, too?

I cannot believe the level of extreme incompetence and stupidity demonstrated by Joe Biden and his administration in Afghanistan.

Obama made exactly the same mistake in Iraq. Obama drew ALL American troops out of Iraq, which created a vacuum and allowed ISIS to rise up and create murder, terror and mayhem in Iraq for years. It took President Trump to come in and clean up the ISIS mess that Obama created with his bad foreign policy decision. Obviously, the Democrats NEVER LEARN from their mistakes.

Biden has a long history of being WRONG on every foreign policy position he has ever taken in the past. All Biden can do today is blame President Trump for his own bad decisions in Afghanistan. This completely incompetent, arrogant President Biden is now responsible for arguably the worst foreign policy decision in American history.

What kind of WEAK American President pulls out all our US military FIRST, while leaving BEHIND our American civilians and billions of dollars worth of American military equipment to be taken and used by the Taliban? These Americans are now in danger of being used as hostages. Biden has also betrayed all the Afghanistan interpreters who helped our US military over the years. These Afghanistan interpreters and their families are now in danger of being tortured and murdered by the brutal Taliban.

And Afghanistan girls and women will now become virtual sex slaves to the Taliban soldiers, who follow strict Sharia law and see these women and girls as spoils of war.

As the world watched the Taliban taking over more and more territory in Afghanistan, WHY didn’t our US military intervene and STOP this terrorist catastrophe before the Taliban reached the city of Kabul?

Joe Biden is going to be directly responsible for the forthcoming torture, murder and rape of thousands of Afghani people. The Taliban can now use all our US military equipment to try to take of Pakistan, which already has a nuclear weapon.

The dictators of the world in Communist China, Iran, Russia and North Korea now see clearly that we have a WEAK and INCOMPETENT President in Joe Biden, along with his sorry and ineffective sham of an Administration. I now worry what Communist China will do to Taiwan.

When I add this Afghanistan disaster to the catastrophe at our Southern border, letting hundreds of thousands of Covid-infected migrants into our country, an open Southern border where vicious gang members, drug dealers and sex traffickers can walk right into America, rising inflation, outrageous government spending and fiscal irresponsibility, loss of our energy independence, rising food, gasoline and oil prices, the rise of crime and homelessness in our cities, pushing CRT on our children in school, it is hard for me to believe that Joe Biden and his corrupt and incompetent Administration has done so much damage to America in such a very short time.

I cannot believe that in the midst of all these Democrat disasters, 19 RINO Republican Senators went along with the Senate Democrats and voted for the pork-laden “Infrastructure Bill”, that has only a small percentage of it actually dedicated to infrastructure, and which will cause even more inflation for Americans. Every one of those RINO Senators should be voted out of office ASAP.

PLEASE get on the phone and call your US Representatives in the House of Representatives that serve your State, and urge them NOT to vote for this disastrous pork-laden “Infrastructure Bill” that is full of Green New Deal policies which are going to further Bankrupt America.

If this complete incompetence and corruption is not stopped soon, it will be too late for America to EVER come back. We are watching the radical Marxist takeover of our country right before our very eyes, Right Now.

The time for the U. S. to leave Afghanistan was long past due. However, the logistics of the withdrawal were disgraceful!

I support the withdrawal, but not like it was done. The American civilians should have been evacuated or told to leave first. There should have been a plan to gradually turn over the leadership to the Afghan forces before up & leaving. Tens of thousands are trapped there unable to get to the airport. The ineptness of the US Administration is on full display for all to see. What a preventable travesty. May our government decide to quickly extricate citizens as other nations are now doing. May God graciously protect these truly in harm’s way. 🙏🏼

I support the withdrawal but it seems this president does not know how it should have been done !

The 2500 troops who were providing air cover for the Afghan forces and intelligence for the free world should have remained to deter further destabilization of the region and the threat, now realized, of violence, as well as to honor our commitment to the Afghanis and our allies. This has worked for over half a century on the Korean Peninsula.

I agree with the other comments in that it was time for a troop withdrawal but not a complete pull-out especially leaving so many vulnerable people and expensive equipment behind. The more this mess goes on it seems that perhaps this was part of Biden's puppeteers' plan all along. Why would any country, leastwise the most powerful military in the world (so they say) pull out troops, leaving valuable military supplies behind? Why would this military allow anyone to be left behind prior to the last soldier being removed? Why would other countries be able to go out in the country and rescue their people while the US is hiding behind the airport walls? With China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan all very close in proximity to Afghanistan, it appears that once again, Biden and his managers are selling the United States out to the highest bidder. Disgusting and frightening! Please vote for anyone next year who calls for impeachment of all three in line. Win both houses and start cutting the snake's head off before it is too late.

I support the withdrawal of troops but only after all our Americans and allies were safe and out of there. To think that Biden made these decisions that will affect us for years to come is really hard to take. I knew he was incompetent but not really at this level. To disregard the Afghan allies and the incredible domino effect that will happen soon, coupled with the dangerous and horrible situation at our own southern border is disgusting and pathetic AND so not American. There is no leadership in the United States. We need to bring back Donald J Trump and let him take care of business.

Yes, but a drawdown would have been infinitely better. We need to contact our representatives to convey our outrage at putting so many lives at risk and bungling this unforgivable action! It is a tragedy that could have been avoided. God help us! And God bless the USA!🇺🇸

The question should have been: Do you support the BIDEN withdrawal from Afghanistan. Withdrawal with Trump at the helm? Absolutely! It would have been thought out and drawn out to be a success.

I would like our current President to go but the prospect of what would take over is just as bad if not worse. We are in trouble.

We had such a small number of troops in Afghanistan that we had essentially ended the war with only a small force to maintain the peace.

The decision to withdraw was strictly political. Biden talked only about how long our troops were there and how it was our longest war. - never about winning the war. We still have a small number of troops in Korea and all over Europe and elsewhere to keep the peace - and have for decades, far longer than we've been in Afghanistan.. Why couldn't we have done the same in Afghanistan? Of course, we could have, but Joe Biden had to make his political point sadly,.it's quite likely that people will die as a result. A sad day for our country indeed.

I support withdrawal but not the way Biden did. The most disgraceful President in U.S. History.

I do not support the withdrawal of all troops as Biden plans to do. The 2500 or so peace keeping troops should stay there to maintain the status quo giving the rest of the world including the U.S.A. some assurance that we all will not be bombed again . There is plenty of chaos in our streets and on the southern border, which will only assist those who want to do us more harm. This decision by our President will leave us all in a very dangerous place for years to come.

We need our former President Trump and his team or someone tough like he is to deal with this. Too bad everyone time the Democrats leave office the Republicans have to clean up their mess. This time it may never get cleaned up to the point we can fell safe again.

I believe something needed to be done to withdraw the United States from a 20-year war that cost too much in lives of our military and costs to the taxpayers with little evidence it was actually solving the problems in Afghanistan. Biden's answers to questions raised by the methods used are pathetic. He can't, or won't, admit to a accurate number of Americans left in that country or how he plans to bring them home. He seems to have no problem in filling American planes with Afghanis wanting to escape the horrors of Taliban rule. Finding the "real" or 'true' story of what is really happening is impossible given the current efforts of the fake media to restrict what is really happening. Biden, and his advisors, are a pathetic example of leadership for this country. We need to stand up against what they are doing and demand the truth, and a return to American policies, ideals and the Constituion.

yes but leaving a contingent for safety. But too, late for that now. TRUMP would have done it safely.

Yes, I support the withdraw of our troops from Afghanistan, but not the manner in which is was accomplished. It's a total disaster that lands squarely at the feet of Biden!

there is much more to withdrawing from Afghanistan than US troops - I was there as the DoD English program manager for the Afghan Army, Air Corps and occasionally Police

i deployed as army but was a civil servant - i truly believe i was the only person to see all facets of "occupation" ...

-from ISAF to Afghan vendors, afghan recruits, contractors, Karsai's security council, token females, narcissistic US senators - generals, security , Embassy bullies, Afghan women who would pat me down before I entered the palace, well- meaning military, money- hungry contractors , clueless national guard , navy females, "good" Afghans, Kurds using maimed children for begging, Thursdays, rampant kickbacks , cheating and frantic spending ( roses for palace, electric targets from texas , closets full of pressure gages , all because there was NO continuity - a new General in, start over, a new CSTICA commander-- start over - English program ...liberal ( DLIELC) , donations to service members and Afghans - disarray,

Afghanistan is a critical location and we ( all those there) had no central command - everyone did their own thing - a country with a population of ? fit to be military? we "trained" them for decades- usually the same ones , while the "recruited" were in the "hands" of Afghan "leadership"?

Our government is too "fickle" to sustain a competent and quantitative "occupation" -

We need troops there as do every affected nation but most of all - we don't need politicians / politics - we need sustainability through continuity based on ROI - ( not only return of investment - money ...)

For 2500 troops, the situation in Afghanistan was stable. We could gather intelligence, had an air base(s), and most importantly, hadn't had any Taliban attacks on our homeland. Maintaining 2500 troops seemed a minimal cost for great benefits.
