It is indeed a balancing act re: any & all economic "debt" issues - The Republicans must adhere to economic analysis follow before & during the voting session...

This is a dance that is performed by Congress over and over again. Dems ask to raise the debt ceiling in order to spend with abandon, Republicans say no but later cave to avoid something called a “government shutdown,” and then they participate in the spending spree. It will never change, as the perverse incentives are too great. Pessimistic? Yes. Realistic? Like yeah!

When you are deep in debt, you need to limit spending to critical services, stop spending on duplicate unnecessary government programs and use fiscal restraint on everything.

No individual or business can survive long by spending more than they bring in. Why does the government seem to think they can? It's time to cut back and provide ONLY the services that government can for American people instead of funding foreign countries and programs that government has no business being in!

I agree with above comments; but we lost this battle when the 19 Republicans voted for Biden's Omnibus Bill...maybe they were the only speed readers in the room!

Anyone who thinks it's ok to spend resources on unauthorized immigrants rather than the citizens need to be set straight. Unfortunately, We don't have enough debate anymore - on anything!

I do not want them to raise the limit, but I am sure it is going to be. The Republicans have to stay strong and make cuts first to all programs, other than military. Of course, I don't have a lot of trust after the Omnibus Bill was passed by those who weren't even going to be in office after the first of the year.

That seems to be a problem with the connection to me. Can you check if this console is correctly connected to the adjacent one? If everything seems fine, you can try contacting support. It is possible that the control panel needs to be replaced if it flickers.

There has been no progress in resolving the debt limit standoff, and the country faces the possibility of its first-ever default by this summer. Members of the House and senators from both parties are completely baffled as to how Washington will avoid going over the precipice.
