Should the sale and distribution of fentanyl be a capital offense?

I want to say yes, but I also wonder if smaller dealers actually know if their products are laced with Fentanyl. I want to see the manufacturers face the death penalty. If someone knowingly distributes/or attempts to distribute a Fentanyl product in volume I'm all for capital offense.
What I don't want to see is a not thinking it through young person ruin their life getting something to aid themselves and friends for study aids. Same for someone who's had an injury and is looking for relief and ends up ruining their rest of their life.
We need to cut off the manufacturers of this horrendous drug and punish them.

Illegal fentanyl should be punished, ANYBODY illegally selling it should face the consequences. I had a pinched nerve in my back and the LEGAL use of 1/2 dose of fentanyl in the hospital was the only thing that eased the pain that night. So, just saying selling it should be illegal tends to negate the legal and proper use of it.

The media continues to refer to a death from fentanyl as an "overdose". It is not an overdose but a murder by someone wanting a few dollars by selling drugs. If the same person shot and killed the purchaser of fentanyl would it continue to be an overdose? Call it what it is - murder. Illegal, unprescribed, unsupervised use of unregulated fentanyl is murder, not an overdose.
