A national holiday would make it more likely that Democrats would vote. Whereas Republicans are more likely to vote, even if it is somewhat inconvenient. We vote in ba weather. We take time even when we are working. We show up! Democrats are less motivated, as a group.

I vote "NO" as we now have vote by mail = election month vs. election day.

With that said if we went back to "Election DAY" than "yes" let's make it a Federal Holiday.

Why should it be a Federal Holiday? The Federal Government does not need more +/- 2 weeks before the actual election day. If you can't get to the polls you can always request a mail in ballot. Those that want to vote will find a way. Why not make a federal law that would require all employers to allow employees to take reasonable time off to go vote?

I voted yes for a National Holiday for election day in November, but my yes is only if we change back to a one day election day. No longer have an election month, mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, etc. We all vote on the first Tuesday of November, it becomes a Holiday so everyone has no excuse to not be able to get to the poles. And ID is required to be able to vote.

If all voting were done on election day as it was in the past, a federal holiday would make sense. However, since most states allow at least 3 weeks of early voting plus votes by mail, a federal holiday is not needed. Everyone has the opportunity to vote without taking time off from work.

If elections returned to ELECTION DAY I would whole heartedly support it being a holiday. But if not, there is no purpose.

I voted Yes, but I feel Vote by Mail should be stopped if it becomes a federal holiday. Also if there is a Federal Holiday for voting, I think early voting should be stopped.

No, the polls are open for 12 hours, you can partake in early voting and mail-in voting. If you take voting seriously, you'll make the effort to vote!

Yes it should definitely be a federal holiday. Schools, especially colleges should be closed so everyone doesn't have to miss class to watch the polls or vote
