I would absolutely oppose removal of the filibuster. Even if the gop initially benefitted from such a move, Democrats would eventually be able to do the same. The founders were wise when they required 60 votes in the Senate for certain actions since the Senate is intended to be the more deliberate body and to reach consensus. It was not intended to allow one party with the slimmest possible majority to push through legislation passed by a single vote.
