Keri Abernathy

KERI ABERNATHY of Mississippi
Slated Position: NFRW Treasurer

Keri Abernathy is serving as the President for the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women (MFRW). Her term is January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2021. Before being state President, she served as Treasurer for the MFRW. Having served the Mississippi Federation for two terms as the Third Congressional District Director, she facilitated new club development, provided support to existing clubs, and acted as a liaison to the MFRW Board of Directors.

In addition, Keri has spent well over a decade as an active member of the Rankin County Republican Women as President, First Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Through these leadership roles, she grew to understand all the facets of precisely what it takes to run a "diamond" club and operate soundly on behalf of the members served. In addition, during that time, she represented her club at MFRW state conventions and served as a delegate to several NFRW biennial conventions.

Keri serves on the Mississippi Republican Party State Central Committee. She was selected to be an Alternate Delegate to the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte. She was part of the inaugural class of the Women's Initiative Network for Republicans (WIN-R), a new program sponsored by the Mississippi Republican Party to get more women involved and running for office. It was a valuable opportunity to learn from seasoned leaders that she shared with her fellow Republican women. She’s also served on her county Republican Executive Committee. When she was six years old, she worked on her first campaign. To this day, she still fundraises for candidates, knocks on doors, makes calls and sends text messages to get out Republican votes not only in Mississippi but throughout the country.

For 18 years, Keri has worked in the corporate, non-profit world managing projects and employees, and operating budgets of over five million dollars with private and public funds. In addition, she has built grassroots partnerships for consumer advocacy throughout Mississippi around today’s top healthcare issues. She received certification from the Mississippi Alliance for Nonprofits Excellence in Action in Nonprofit Management from the Else School of Management at Millsaps College.

Keri graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Speech Communication. She owns her own business and is a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. She resides in Pearl, Mississippi, with husband Brian and two daughters, Ava (15) and Ali (9). In her free time, she enjoys traveling with family, genealogy, and touring old homes.
