On February 24, 2020, the Utah Federation of Republican Women (UFRW) from across the state of Utah gathered together for their annual 'Legislative Day at the Utah State Capitol' to kick-off the election cycle and introduce their theme for 2020 as the "Year of the Woman."

With the recent media claims that "Republican women are in crisis" or "nearly extinct," the UFRW began their Legislative Day with a press conference to refute this claim. Kendra Seeley, press conference guest speaker, Utah Republican Party secretary and UFRW member, said "I'm here to tell you today Republican Women are not an endangered species." Republican women serve in various roles such as candidates, mayors, city councilors, county commissioners, campaign managers, advisers, managers of "powerful political organizations" and even in nonpartisan roles, such as school boards members. The number of members in Congress or state legislatures does not reflect all of the women behind the scenes working to strengthen the Republican Party.

The press conference was followed by speakers in the Capitol's Gold Room, including: Kristen Cox, the Director of Governor’s Office of Management and Budget, State Senator Ann Milner and Representative Melissa Ballard. UFRW ladies were introduced in both the House and Senate Chambers. Additional honors were visits from both the House Speaker Brad Wilson and Senate President Stuart Adams.

As a finale each of the clubs divided into their local groups and ended an enjoyable day over lunch with their local legislators discussing pertinent legislation.
