Club Aids Fellow Citizens Through Caring For America Project.

The Chelan-Douglas Republican Women of north central Washington did not let COVID-19 slow down their efforts to aid fellow citizens through the Federation's Caring For America program. The women generously donated $732 worth of office and cleaning supplies to the "Haven of Hope," a 21-bed homeless shelter for women and children.

Checks were also presented to "Serve Wenatchee," a nonprofit religious charity, in the sum of $700 for their "Clothes for the Classroom" project that seeks to completely clothe (shoes, socks, shirt, and pants) 1,000 children for school.

The  Seattle USO, one of the largest in the country, benefited from their saving of personal hygiene items for over 18 months. Dee Drewry, past state president, delivered three full boxes totaling 1,028 items (shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, brushes, soap, female hygiene, shaving items, etc.) to be distributed to our active-duty military members and families that spend many hours and possibly days between flights.

The 70 members of CDRW have consistently assisted multiple nonprofit agencies in the two-county region for many years.

Currently they are getting ready for their annual fundraiser banquet and silent auction on August 18 featuring Glen Morgan, founder of "We The Governed," speaking on election integrity.
