Club Awards Seven Scholarships and Recognizes Outstanding Member Achievements

Crystal Coast Republican Women of North Carolina awarded seven scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduate students during their annual membership event. NC Federation of Republican Women's Coastal Region Vice President and CCRW member presided over the event, and NC State Senator Norm Sanderson was the featured guest speaker.

Introduced by Mary Marks, the recipients are the children and grandchildren of club members. Each gave a brief bio and explained what they plan to study in college.

After the scholarship awards, President Stephanie Broughton and NCFRW Coastal Region Vice President Michele Nix presented long time member and past club president Dianne Tetreault with an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the CCRW and NCFRW (after singing "Happy Birthday" to her). Dianne was nominated by the Board of Directors because of her dedication to the club and her volunteer efforts in getting Republicans elected.

Club members were recognized for their hard work in 2022. Vice President Martie Cochran received the Party Animal award for her efforts in organizing all the club's events, including one of our most successful Reagan Rallies to date. The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Lynn Carraway, the Shining Star award went to Joan Breest, the Most Motions went to Mary Boughton, and #1 in Seconds went to Channey Blackburn.
