Club Members Watch for a Hole-in-One

Several members of Northeast Johnson County Republican Women work monthly at Safehome. Safehome is a local residence for victims of abuse and their children and pets. We go monthly to help with whatever is needed. This could be reorganizing clothing or toiletries, helping the chef with dinner (or making cookies), counting donated items, writing thank-you cards, or putting up Christmas decorations.

In May we had a chance to do something completely different; we helped at the Safehome annual golf tournament. We sat outside under the trees and verified if any golfers got a hole-in-one on the 17th hole. Unfortunately, no one got a hole-in-one, but the winner would have won a lovely white 2025 Toyota Camry. Even though no one won, we met some fun and friendly people who gladly support this wonderful organization.

Working at Safehome is never dull; always fun and different. The 10 years the club has done this volunteer work has been a joy for those who do the work and for those at the residence.
