Club Supports Local First Responders
Triangle Republican Women (TRW) supports fire, rescue and medical response volunteers in Durham, North Carolina.
TRW members collected individually packaged snacks for local first responders, and assembled large snack baskets at our June meeting. Popular items included beef jerky, individual packs of nuts and crackers, and protein bars. Thank you notes signed by the club also were included in each basket.
Baskets were delivered to eight locations in our community. Speaking at the June meeting was fire chief of Bahama Volunteer Fire Department, a community-driven, family-oriented department servicing a large, rural response area covering 58 square miles. We explored how we can better support our local first responders.
