Club Member Christine Hanlon Elected Chair of New Jersey Republican Party
On January 5, the New Jersey Republican State Committee elected the Hon. Christine Giordano Hanlon, Esq., to lead the New Jersey Republican Party. Hanlon is a member of Monmouth County Federated Republican Women.

Christine is Monmouth County Clerk and Chair of the New Jersey Republican State Committee. She has served as Monmouth County Clerk since 2015, winning re-election to her third term in November 2025. She became Chair of the NJGOP in January 2026, marking the first time in 30 years a woman has held the role.
An active Republican leader in New Jersey for more than 17 years, Christine has served as Co-Chair of the Monmouth County Republican Committee and was a former GOP State Committeewoman for six years. She has provided campaign training and consulting for a multitude of candidates on local, state and federal levels of government.
Prior to being elected County Clerk, Christine served as a Commissioner on the Monmouth County Board of Elections, serving as Secretary for two years. She practiced law for more than 20 years, focusing most recently on government affairs and municipal law.
Christine received her law degree from Fordham University and her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University. After graduation from law school, she was Law Clerk to the Honorable A. Simon Chrein, Chief United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York and then served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York.
Clerk Hanlon currently serves as a Trustee for the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation, the Monmouth Bar Association, Monmouth Bar Foundation and Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America. She is a past President of the Constitutional Officers Association of NJ (COANJ), the Monmouth County SPCA and the Monmouth Bar Association. She is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently winning the 2025 Public Service Award from the Amerigo Vespucci Society of Long Branch as well as the 2024 Monmouth Bar Association “Service to the Bar” Award.
