Club Donates Bibles to County Schools For Teaching American Revolution
Franklin County Federated Republican Women raised funds for 39 authentic reproductions of the first American Bible the Founding Fathers used in framing the Constitution with Judeo-Christian principles. The Bibles were presented to the Franklin County School Board on January 30.
Presenting the Bibles were Regina Harrison, club president; Dr. Jerry Anderson with the SEC; and, Sen. Janice Bowling. Receiving the Bibles were Dr. Cary Holman, Director of Schools, and Jenny Crabtree, Federal and Student Services Supervisor.
This was made possible through funds raised by the Franklin County Federated Republican Women along with additional funds from club members Dr. Jerry and Mrs. Tere Anderson, Sandy Davis and Jody McGee, as well as community donors Dr. Garrett Orr, Ricky and Demi Summers, and Dr. Brad Shapiro.
Each fourth grade, eighth grade, and high school teacher in the Franklin County School District who teaches the American Revolution will receive a Bible as a resource for their classes.
