Club Volunteers at Ashe Really Cares
The Ashe County Republican Women were out in full force on Friday, April 10, with a volunteer day at the Ashe Really Cares organization in West Jefferson, North Carolina.
Ashe County Republican Women participate in community service activities providing awareness in the community about the Republican Women’s group. In keeping with this effort, Ashe County Republican Women planned a volunteer day with Ashe Really Cares. Ashe Really Cares has been helping poor people in the community for over 25 years. Services include a food pantry, clothing assistance, and spiritual guidance.
Ashe Really Cares' mission statement is, “Our mission is to meet the needs of our neighbors by providing food, clothing, and essentials in a manner that promotes dignity and respect in an environment of compassion, faith, prayer, and support. For the community, by the community.” The organizaiton is affiliated with the Ashe Baptist Association and Second Harvest Food Bank Feeding America. Members who participated in the volunteer day were Geri Brady, Jane Everett, Jenifer Falls, Terri Penzenstadler, and Toni Wall. Their collective efforts helped showcase the club’s commitment to both civic engagement and community service.
