Club Raises $10,000 at Fundraiser

The Pensacola Patriots' Dinner was hosted by the Escambia Federated Republican Women June 20 at the Pensacola Country Club. The event raised approximately $10,000 to support club operations, including getting out the vote, supporting local candidates, purchasing supportive software like Mailchimp and Zoom, and donating to local conservative charities. 

The keynote speaker was Florida Sen. Don Gaetz, who spoke about passed legislation and offered realistic views on the current property tax proposal. Many elected and prospective candidates for all open offices were in attendance, and time was given for them to speak at the podium and mingle with voters. 

An original poem was written and read by EFRW member Phuong Thach, and a summary of EFRW operations over the last two years was read by Jennifer Schaffner, along with "Why Being Part of a Federation Matters," written by FFRW member Erika Orriss, and read by Jennifer. All credit was given to Erika Orriss). 

Submitted videos featured Senator Ashley Moody, Congressman Jimmy Patronis, Lt. Governor Jay Collins, Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson, and former Speaker of the Florida House Paul Renner. 

There were wonderful silent auctions and door prize giveaways. Overall, it was a fun night that went very smoothly, and everyone left happy, feeling more educated on what the EFRW and Federation does and with a greater knowledge of all the local candidates.
