Club Collects Book Donations at August Meeting

The Ashe County Republican Women donated Tuttle Twins Books and Brave Books to Sheri Muma from a homeschool group in Ashe County at the August meeting on August 27. The books are going to worthy students who want to improve their reading and have a desire to learn.

In addition, the club welcomed two dynamic speakers. Caroline Hupp, NCGOP Northwest Regional Representative, spoke about the upcoming elections and the importance of being involved in Getting Out The Vote in Ashe County. Elam Freeman, President of the Appalachian State University College Republicans, described the activities and events that the ASU College Republicans are planning.

The Ashe County Republican Women are continuing their community presence at several upcoming events:

• Pistons For a Purpose in Jefferson – Saturday, September 12
• Constitution Day Re-enactment Signing in West Jefferson at Boondocks Restaurant – Thursday, September 17
• Brushy Mountain Apple Festival in North Wilksboro – Saturday, October 3
• Candidate Forum in Lansing at the Barn – Saturday, October 17

For more information about Ashe County Republican Women, stop by the booth at the next event, connect at the monthly luncheon meeting on the last Thursday of each month at 11am at the Ashe County Worship Center, or visit the website at ACNCRW.org.
