In July 2018, Leavenworth County Republican Women (KS) invited all Republican candidates in a contested primary race to a “speed campaigning” event. Thirteen candidates participated, including candidates for Congress, Governor, Secretary of State, State Insurance Commissioner, State Representative and City Commissioner.

Members sat at numbered tables, and candidates were given corresponding numbers at check in. This is where they would start their “speed campaigning.” A signal was given, and each candidate had a total of four minutes at each table. This allowed for a brief intro, and a little bit of dialogue/conversation between the candidate and the members at the table.  At the end of four minutes a signal was sounded, the candidate had 45 seconds to move to the next table in the numbered sequence. The process would start over with the next group.

Club members and the candidates appreciated the face to face time and the free flow conversation.
