Johnson City, Tenn., February 13, 2020 - The Washington County Federated Republican Women hosted the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women’s (TnFRW) 32nd Biennial Convention in October 2019 and recently presented a check to the state for the proceeds from the event.

Approximately 230 women from across the state attended the convention, held at the Carnegie Hotel.

The convention included business meetings, workshops, and silent and live auctions. Distinguished guests and speakers included Rep. Phil Roe, Rep. Jeremy Faison, Rep. Robin Smith, Rep. Micah Van Huss, Dr. Manny Sethi, Congressman Mark Green, Ambassador Bill Hagerty, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy, Jonesborough Mayor Chuck Vest and Johnson City Commissioner John Hunter, representing Mayor Jenny Brock.

Special guest speaker was National Federation of Republican Women Treasurer Vanessa LaFranco, who also installed the TnFRW officers for the 2020-2021 term.

“We were happy to host such an important event. This is the first time the TnFRW convention has been held in Johnson City,” Convention Chair Sharon Boreing said. “In addition to the business of the organization, we brought in leadership from all over the state. We are thrilled they could experience some of what Johnson City and Jonesborough have to offer."

On February 8, Boreing presented a check for $37,069.27 to TnFRW President Barbara Trautman. The check presentation was part of the TnFRW’s winter board meeting in Brentwood.
