Club Celebrates Literacy Month and Donates Books to Elementary School

Shelby County Republican Women’s Club  of Tennessee welcomed Victor Evans, Executive Director of TennesseeCAN, to share the mission of his organization that advocates for improving K-12 education. TennesseeCAN is working to ensure students have access to high-quality schools, teachers and resources that prioritize their unique educational talents and needs.

Amber Huett-Garcia from the Memphis-Shelby County School Board also spoke about the challenges our students are facing because of the pandemic.

Kate Bond Elementary Administrator, Koedy Harper was very appreciative for the gracious donation of books to fill the library at the school. His students sent a signed “Thank You” card for him to present.
