Club Presents Fun, Festive Pre-Election Event

Secretary of State Kyle and Letti Ardoin and  were crowned Boogie Bash champions at the East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Women 2022 fundraiser, “Right On! A Boogie Bash”.

The event showcased nine local Republican celebrity couples competing to win a fun-filled “Dancing with the Stars” type contest. Dance couples also included State Treasurer John and Ellie Schroder, Agriculture Commissioner Mike and Susan Strain, State Rep. Rick and Cindy Edmonds, Louisiana Federation Republican Women Region 6 Vice President Debbie Kuehne and Greater Baton Rouge Young Republicans President Spencer Evans, former State Sen. Elbert Guillory and East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Past President Carol Thomas, among others.

Guillory and Thomas won best costumes, and Kuehne and Evans won Peoples’ Choice Award.

Serving on the Boogie Bash Committee were 2nd Vice President – Fundraising Chair, Laurie Adams and 1st Vice President – Boogie Bash Decorating Chair, Christy Haik along with Dru Brock Lee, Terri Hagan, Debbie Kuehne, Lynn Coxe Graham, Jeannene Kogler and associate member, Riley Hagan

The venue was transformed from restaurant to vintage discotheque, complete with stunning table centerpieces, purple up-lights and fairy lights, and of course a spinning DISCO BALL! Fun was had by all as over 200 attendees networked and enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar before being seated to enjoy the show.

Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and Club President Lynn Coxe Graham welcomed our guests, and Laurie Adams performed her MC duties flawlessly. Our dancing couples worked for months to perfect and perform their dance routines to such tunes as “Boogie Wonderland,” “Jump Shout Boogie,” “My Girl,” “Boogie Fever,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” among others.

Proceeds will fund election integrity advocacy, voter outreach, and voter registration programs. The East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Women have also partnered with the Greater Baton Rouge Young Republicans to support their voter turnout efforts in critical congressional races this election season.
