Club Honors First Responders

After finding out our first responders had held “their own” event, we immediately knew this was going to change!

Putnam County Republican Women's Club (WV) has always sponsored the “Back The Blue” event, and this fell right in line with advocating for all First Responders. What an honor it was for our ladies to sponsor. There was no question when sharing to the executive board, along with our membership.

This took months of work. The lead from our decorating team, Becky Richmond, took her vision and made it a reality along with other members of the team. As this was a significant success as you can see from pictures, the next step was to invite our county restaurants to show their support. Several visits were made to multiple and we ended up with (5) to donate. God was aligning everything.

Next were the door prizes - here comes the fun. Love talking to people and catching up with friends. It did not take long for businesses inside and outside our county to say “thank you” with their generous donations. As the President of PCRW, my heart was overwhelmed with happiness and joy for our First Responders knowing how appreciative everyone else felt in our county, not just our club. I felt the love and I am not a First Responder. It was absolutely beautiful!

The day finally came. Everyone that shared they would be donating something, came through with flying colors. The kids enjoyed face painting, inflatable obstacle courses, a visit from a real alligator and python snake, fresh homemade apple cider (hot and cold), two photo ops for memories of this event, gifts, food, fellowship, and more. What a glorious day.
