Club Supports Festival of Trees with 'All Dolled Up' Tree

Garrett County Republican Women (MD) created the "All Dolled Up" tree for Festival of Trees, sponsored by Dove Center in Garrett County.

Madame Beatrice Alexander knew there was beauty within sad, broken dolls that came her way some 100 years ago when she began making today's collectible dolls of the same name. So too the Dove Center dutifully has worked to "doll up" the women who have come to them - some sad, some broken - through no fault of their own.

With the same innovative spirit and dedication Madame Alexander used in crafting her dolls, the Dove Center has brought forth the beauty of these women both on the outside and from within.

In the 100th year of the Alexander Doll Company, the Garrett County Republican Women's Club is pleased and honored to present this tree, "All Dolled Up," for this year's Festival of Trees in recognition of the many Garrett County women who have been raised up from depths of despair through the Dove Center, to be empowered, beautiful women and lead more fulfilling and enriched lives.
