Another Economically-Disastrous Democrat Bill Gives Republicans Opportunity to Reach Voters

The American people have been conned by Joe Biden. The man they thought would be moderate, the man who would bring calm and normalcy to Washington has done none of that. He promised voters to fight for the interests of the average man and woman as it emerges from the chaos brought by a global pandemic. He said Americans would not see their taxes rise, particularly those making under $400,000 a year.

How wrong they were.

The Inflation Reduction Act passed the U.S. Senate last weekend without a single Republican vote and is scheduled to be voted in the U.S. House on August 12. The increase in corporate taxes – touted by Democrats as the way to make the rich pay their fair share – will instead lead to even lower wages and higher prices. This will not help the average American family when they go to the grocery store or gas station. The tax credits given to energy companies to produce wind and solar products or for the wealthy to buy an electric car is not going to help those who can’t afford to buy an electric car, particularly when they are struggling to fill the gas tank of the car they already own.

The Democrats' attempt to curb inflation does not extend to any sort of spending cuts. The Biden administration – taking their cues from the Bernie Sanders/Elizabeth Warren playbook – are still deluding themselves that you can spend your way to prosperity. The idea of spending all the money you have and then printing more is unlikely to go over well with Americans as they tighten their own belts in dealing with increasing prices.

Another out-of-touch Democrat proposal is the hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents, allegedly to keep the wealthy from dodging their tax obligations. The reality is that the IRS is more likely to target a small business with limited resources rather than those who can afford to hire the attorneys and accountants needed to defend themselves from an IRS audit.

Bad economic policy makes itself felt when times are hard. And our NFRW members need to remind voters of this as we work to get our Republican candidates elected this year.

Democrats promise moderation and relief for the average American, but deliver the opposite. The Republican Platform of sound economic policy – lowering instead of raising taxes, reducing the regulatory burdens on businesses so they can grow, championing energy independence – will resonate with voters as Democrats persist in pushing a radical agenda at the expense of the American people.

In addition to our work of taking back the U.S. House and Senate in November, NFRW members need to keep the pressure on their congressional representatives to vote no on the Inflation Reduction Act. And if your state is represented by a Republican senator, please thank them for their efforts in uniting to defeat the legislation. You can contact your representatives either locally or via the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121.

Elections have consequences, and Democrats need a reminder to respect the taxpayers' money like they would their own. Let’s keep riding the #RedWave through volunteering, donating, and most importantly – voting.
